The stake on a horse does not change that horse's chance of winning. All six runners carry equal weight in the draw. A horse holding a large pool is not a favourite, and a horse holding a small pool is not an outsider. Every runner is 1 in 6, every race.
What the stakes decide is the payout — how the prize is divided once a winner is drawn. That is covered on the next pages.
When betting closes, the race waits for a drand evmnet beacon round and targets the draw about 60–62 seconds later. The contract verifies the beacon signature on Robinhood Chain before it will settle. Nobody — not the team, not the operator — can supply or alter the number.
See the paper trail: the last finished race, step by step, with every transaction linked.
The random value is bound to one race, on one contract, on one chain, so a result cannot be lifted from elsewhere or replayed. The draw and the settlement are both public on the block explorer.
If no valid draw arrives within five minutes of the betting close, the race is voided and every stake becomes claimable in full.

- 80% · PRIZE
- Shared among the wallets that backed the winning horse.
- 10% · CREW LOCK
- Accrues in the Crew Lock reserve.
- 5% · DEVELOPMENT
- Funds running the race, including payout gas.
- 5% · BURN
- Permanently destroyed, reducing supply.
The split is applied by the contract at settlement, to the whole pool of that race. Payouts are not fixed odds: what a winning token is worth depends on the final size of the pool and on how much was staked on the winning horse.
If several wallets backed the winning horse, each one receives the prize multiplied by its own stake divided by the total staked on that horse. A wallet that staked twice as much receives twice as much. It is not an equal split between winners.
EXAMPLE · TWO WALLETS ON THE WINNING HORSE · 10,001 STAKED · 40,000 PRIZE
| Wallet | Stake | Share of the horse | Receives |
| Wallet A | 10,000 | 10,000 / 10,001 | 39,996.0004 |
| Wallet B | 1 | 1 / 10,001 | 3.9996 |
| Total | 10,001 | — | 40,000.0000 |
Both wallets backed the same winning horse, so both are paid. The one that staked a thousand times more is paid a thousand times more. The whole prize is distributed; only sub-token rounding dust remains.
If you are the only wallet that backed the horse that wins, there is nobody to divide the prize with. You receive the entire 80% of the race pool — including every token staked on the five horses that lost.
This is the same rule as the previous page, with one winner instead of two: your share of the winning horse is 1 of 1, so your payout is the whole prize. The size of your stake does not cap what you can receive; the prize is set by the pool, not by what you put in.
The same applies in reverse. A horse can hold a very large pool and still lose, and every token staked on a losing horse is gone. Only enter what you can afford to lose.
Betting is open for 7 minutes 30 seconds. A race only runs if four different horses carry a bet when betting closes. One wallet may satisfy this by backing four horses itself.
There is no extension. If three or fewer horses are backed at the close, the race is cancelled and every stake is refunded in full. No split is taken from a cancelled race.
Every race keeps the same clock: betting for 7:30, then the dice roll, and the horses start exactly ten minutes after betting opened. The next race opens about a minute after the finish.
One wallet may stake at most 10,000 LUPYN on any one horse, counting repeat entries together. Each of the other horses carries its own separate 10,000 allowance. There is no minimum or maximum total race pool.
A horse can win with no bets on it at all. The draw covers all six runners, whether or not anyone backed them.
When that happens there is no winning wallet to pay, so no player wins and no player is refunded. The 80% prize allocation joins the usual 10% in the Crew Lock reserve. Development still receives 5% and 5% is still burned.
This is not the same as a cancelled race. A cancelled race is one that never qualified, and it refunds everyone in full. A race with an unbacked winner did run, and it settles normally.
